Welcome (or welcome back) to IU! Being LGBTQ+ can be isolating at times. Luckily, there are lots of resources to support you here!

Welcome home! We offer an extensive LGBTQ+ library, a new student mentoring program, educational materials, and lots of free stuff like clothes and HIV testing - but more importantly, we're a place to hang out, do your homework, and meet people! We host an annual halloween party & costume contest, and many other social events. We also have a Discord server where you can find an online community. As an IU office with an almost-all-queer staff of professionals, undergrads, and graduate students, we are here to help however we can.
Find your community and help improve it! QSU is the largest student organization by and for queer students on the IUB campus. You can get involved as a general member or on a committee: Communications, Programming, or Advocacy. We host events such as concerts, drag shows, and a queer yoga class, and we meet frequently with administrators to advance queer livelihood at IU. Plus, you can check out our queer arts newsletter, and get or give community support through the Queer Mutual Aid Network (QMAN). Attend one of our events to connect with likeminded people, or come get involved in making IUB a better place to be LGBTQ+!
Looking to meet people who know what you're going through? There are lots of groups for LGBTQ+ students at IUB who share something else in common, too! From the Queers of Color Alliance, to the Transgender Union for Students (TrUSt), to Out@Kelley, the Latinx Initiative, and more, find your match!
Are you a faculty or staff member at IUB looking for queer community? Please join the Faculty & Staff Mixer on September 14th from 5:00-6:30pm in the IMU Dogwood Room. We will be discussing the formation of IUB’s Faculty & Staff Council. Both members and leaders are needed for this exciting new organization.
If you or a friend needs help, but you're not sure where to go, the Care Team is here for you! They can help any student get connected with the right offices & resources to improve their IU experience - and life in general.
There are lots of resources to take care of your health as an LGBTQ+ person at IU! From free STI testing, to Hormone Replacement Therapy, to inclusive exercise groups, to mental health counseling, there's something for everyone!
IU's Gender Studies Department and Kinsey Institute are world leaders in the study and teaching of gender studies, queer theory, and sexuality studies. Both undergraduate students and PhD students can major or minor in Gender Studies, and most courses offered by the Gender Studies department are open to all students of the appropriate level.
